ABOUT US

Glen Iris Scorpions Basketball Club is a junior domestic club affiliated with the Waverley Basketball Association in Melbourne. Our club is a vibrant and supportive community dedicated to the development of our players.

Established in 2009, our club has grown to around 250 kids from over 40 different schools playing in around 35 teams across all levels of the Waverley junior domestic competition.

Our ethos revolves around fostering growth, enjoyment, and active participation, both on and off the court, regardless of skill level. We're passionate about providing a welcoming and inclusive environment where every player can thrive.

OUR CLUB

OUR COMPETITION

All Glen Iris Scorpions Basketball teams are entered in the Waverley Basketball Association junior domestic competition. Two seasons run per year – Summer from October to March/April (school terms 4 and 1) and Winter from April to September (terms 2 and 3).

Games are played on Saturdays for most age groups at either Waverley Basketball Stadium or other local venues. Our club runs one training session during the week for each team, with times and venues allocated depending on coach availability.

OUR COMMITTEE

Our club is run entirely by dedicated volunteers, from committee members to coaches, and we prioritise creating a positive and supportive atmosphere for our players, where everyone, including parents, plays a pivotal role.

At the heart of our community-based club lies a committee dedicated to promoting participation, teamwork and wellbeing of everyone involved.
